Everyone has a birthday! But did you know that a Solar Return does not always land on the day of your birthday? With the Solar Return Chart, we are tracking the degree of the Sun so the Solar Return Chart is casted based on the time and date The Sun returns to that original degree in your specific Natal (Birth) Chart... and sometimes that happens a day before or a day after your birthdate!
Birthdays are so special in many cultures because we innately understand that time can be tracked by the Sun’s course around the Earth and the Energy it brings to us when it comes back to its place of origin. We feel the Energy of the Sun closer to us and our days are a little lighter and brighter. Even if we as a society track birthdates, when we look at the degrees of the Sun, in relation to our chart, we can more accurately pinpoint the exact conjunction of The Sun with Natal Sun this way.
Solar returns are some of my favorite chart readings for people who are committed to their personal growth. A Solar Return Chart is almost like having a New Natal Chart for the year, as of your birthday. It’s a lot of fun to see how people are able to integrate their Progressed Chart, which also works through degrees, with their Solar Return by focusing on the year at hand.
Going into detail about the intricate coincidences that overlaying charts have is one of the main reasons why I felt I had to create a space to write about my findings. My approach to astrology has been interactive as I survey with application on the next chart and the next chart, gathering further evidence of the passed down ancient knowledge and wisdom.
Everything is interconnected and the astrology themes that come up for a brief year, interconnected with all else, show this better than anything.
A Solar Return chart clearly becomes the roadmap for the year when you compare the theme of the Natal, Progressed, Transit, and you decipher the themes for each of those charts, in this particular time. Once you bring them back to the Solar Return Chart, you can see where in the chart, those energies come to life.
My friends have booked Solar Return Chart six or eight months after their birthday, and the chart tells the story they just lived through, but by that point, we are working backwards and no longer have the freedom of choice readily available, as it would have been at the birthdate. It's great as a learning tool for retrospective work, but works wonders when used to be proactive with the Energy at hand. When we break out a Solar Return Chart on a birthday, the feeling of empowerment increases and the decisions yield a better result, because they are made with foresight.
